MEET JOE
Joe Armendarez is a distinguished combat veteran, dedicated blue-collar worker, and longstanding pillar of our community. A proud member of the first graduating class of AB Miller High School. Following graduation, Joe answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Marine Corps.
Upon returning home, Joe channeled his passion for community service into coaching and mentoring our youth and serving in leadership roles. He served as Manager and Head Coach at Fontana Pop Warner Football, and as Head Coach and Board Member for Fontana Elks Little League. Joe also made significant contributions as a coach for the Fontana High School-Marine Corps ROTC Rifle team, guiding students in marksmanship fundamentals and leading the team to its first national competition.
In 2020, Joe Armendarez was elected to the Fontana Unified School Board, where he continues to advocate passionately for students and families. Known for his dedication to youth, Joe has been a mentor and role model, inspiring young minds to reach their full potential.
Currently a Track Supervisor with the BNSF Railway engineering team, Joe is committed to the safety and efficiency of our infrastructure. He is a proud father to three children, all graduates of the Fontana Unified School District, and a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren, eight of whom currently attend FUSD schools from pre-K to 3rd grade.
Joe is dedicated to prioritizing students' well-being and fostering innovative educational strategies to unleash every child's potential.
